For people with a wide bony portion of their nose, it is possible to narrow it. This may require breaking the bones on the side of the nose (osteotomy) and moving them in an inward direction (infracture)
Shaping the Tip of the Nose
It is possible to reshape the tip of the nose. This may require adding or removing cartilage at the tip along with suturing (stitching) the cartilage together.
Removing the Hump on the Dorsum of the Nose
A hump on the bridge of the nose is another concern of patients which can be corrected. This may require filing, shaving, or cutting the excess cartilage and bone which makes up the hump.
Raising the Tip of the Nose
A low tip of the nose can be raised. This may require adding cartilage to support the tip, removing excess cartilage in the septum, or repositioning the cartilage.
Narrowing the Base of the Nose
A wide base of the nose or flaring of the nostrils can be narrowed. This may require the tissue at the base of the nose to be removed, and the nostrils moved to a more inward position.
